Welcome to Resilience and Recovery Studies

Trauma tests the resilience of the human spirit, but true resilience lies not merely in enduring pain but in the capacity to emerge from the experience stronger, wiser, and more integrated. Healing is not a passive return; it is an active effort to rebuild and make sense.

What Is Resilience and Recovery Studies?

It is a research group that aims to bring together academics, undergraduate and graduate students, and mental health professionals working on trauma and psychological resilience to enhance their knowledge and experience in this field. To this end, we aim to bring together research projects under one roof, develop new projects, publish nationally and internationally, and organize seminars and reading groups. Our ultimate goal is to translate this knowledge and experience into practical projects for the benefit of society.

Our Mission

As Resilience and Recovery Studies (RRS), our mission is to scientifically understand, support, and strengthen the psychological resilience that individuals and communities develop in the face of traumatic life events, stressors, and states of vulnerability.

In this direction;

  • Conducting evidence-based research,

  • Developing preventive and curative psychosocial intervention models,

  • We examine the processes of trauma, recovery and resilience in a cultural context.

We aim to contribute to psychological well-being by combining both academic production and field practice in our work.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be an international practice and research center that supports the post-traumatic healing processes of individuals, families and communities, contributing with culturally sensitive and scientifically based models.

In the field of trauma and resilience;

  • Establishing multidisciplinary collaborations,

  • Developing projects that create social impact,

  • Supporting the next generation of researchers and mental health professionals is one of our main priorities.

We believe that healing is not just an individual process but a social one; we hold out hope that vulnerabilities open up space for knowledge, connection, and transformation.
